What Music Means To Me...

Childhood.
A song from my childhood that means a lot to me is by the band Everything But The Girl, and the song is called Missing.’ This band was my mum’s favourite band, but she passed away when I was 4 years old. This song was played at her funeral and since has been the song that reminds me of her the most.  Whenever I hear this song now, it makes me happy to remember her.
Early Teens.
A song that means a lot to me from my early teenage years is ‘How to Save a Life’ by The Fray. I first heard this song when I was about 13 years old and I really enjoyed listening to it. It was then covered by one of my friends bands, and I remember watching them play it live for the first time. It is currently the most played song on my iTunes, with just under 500 plays. When I hear the song now it reminds me of my friends who covered it.
Now.
A song that means a lot to me now is ‘Sex on Fire’ by Kings of Leon. Kings of Leon are one of my favourite bands and this song means a lot to me because I remember listening to it in the car on the way home from a party a friend had on GCSE results day last year. At the end of the night when we were driving home this song came on on the radio, and we went mad in the car! We were all ‘slightly’ drunk, and it was the best way to say goodbye to the stress of GCSE’s.
